A key party within Malaysia’s ruling coalition is reportedly reviewing its relationship with the government bloc amid tensions linked to a corruption controversy involving the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Leaders within the party said dissatisfaction has grown over how the government handled allegations surrounding the MACC leadership, with some calling for stronger reform measures and investigations.
Although the party is not planning to immediately withdraw support from the coalition, observers say the issue could affect political stability ahead of the next general election expected by 2028.
