Fugitive Businessman Adlan Berhan Ordered to Surrender as Passport Revoked
PETALING JAYA: Muhammad Adlan Berhan, the son-in-law of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, is believed to be using a non-Malaysian passport to travel abroad after his Malaysian passport was cancelled.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said Adlan’s movements were likely made possible through the use of another country’s passport. He added that efforts are ongoing to trace Adlan’s overseas assets, though the process requires cooperation from foreign agencies.
“Even if we manage to trace the assets, we must determine whether they are linked to the case under investigation,” Azam said.
He confirmed that investigations are complete, and only prosecution remains for Adlan and his lawyer, Mansoor Saat, who also fled the country.
Adlan is wanted by the MACC for alleged criminal breach of trust involving government-linked projects.
