Fugitive Businessman Adlan Berhan Ordered to Surrender as Passport Revoked
KUALA LUMPUR: Fugitive businessman Muhammad Adlan Berhan must surrender himself at the nearest Malaysian embassy or consulate following the revocation of his passport, confirmed MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya. He said Adlan would be brought back to Malaysia to face legal proceedings.
The 49-year-old, son-in-law of former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, has been on the run for over two years and is believed to be residing in the Middle East. MACC has frozen all of Adlan’s Malaysian assets and bank accounts, though he reportedly still holds properties abroad. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail confirmed the passport revocation yesterday.
