KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 — Belgium has reaffirmed its role as a key partner in Malaysia’s growing frozen potato market through a strong showcase at Food & Hospitality Malaysia (FHM) 2025. The trade event, held from Sept 23 to 26 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, highlighted Belgium’s world-renowned frozen potato products, with participation from five leading exporters — Agristo, Clarebout Potatoes, Ecofrost, Global Fries and Pomuni.
Malaysia is currently the third-largest importer in Asia of Belgian frozen potato products, recording RM109 million (€22 million) in imports in 2024. Coordinated by VLAM, the showcase drew strong interest from chefs, distributors and industry leaders, reflecting Malaysia’s expanding appetite for premium, innovative and consistent foodservice offerings.
