Singapore, January 22, 2026 – Changi Airport achieved a historic milestone in 2025, handling 69.98 million passengers—a 3.4% increase from 2024 and surpassing the pre-COVID peak of 68.3 million in 2019. December proved the busiest month with 6.3 million movements, peaking on December 20 with over 223,000 passengers.
China emerged as the top market, followed by Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, India, and Thailand. China’s traffic surged 12.2% year-on-year, while Vietnam and Japan grew 9.8% and 7%, respectively. Key routes included Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bali, and Hong Kong.
The airport expanded rapidly, adding 13 new city links—a record—including destinations in China, Indonesia, Austria, India, Malaysia, Mongolia, and Vietnam. Two new airlines, MIAT Mongolian Airlines and Pelita Air, joined the roster. Aircraft movements rose 2.2% to 374,000.
CAG CEO Yam Kum Weng highlighted robust growth amid volatility, crediting network focus on Asian secondary cities and enhanced efficiency. Air cargo hit 2.08 million tonnes, up 4.5%, with top markets like China and the US.
Looking ahead, Changi aims for over 200 city connections by the mid-2030s, with Terminal 5 boosting capacity to 140 million passengers annually, solidifying its role as a regional gateway.
