Huawei to help Sabah digitise targeted economic sectors and services
The Sabah State Government has signed a MoU with Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) to collaborate on digital transformation programs aimed at enhancing economic growth and public services in the state.
Huawei will provide technological expertise and consultation for developing digital talent, data centres, digital infrastructure, and rural connectivity. The partnership will focus on training programs covering artificial intelligence, big data analysis, and smart city implementation.
Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji bin Haji Noor says, “Huawei Malaysia will provide consultancy and advisory services in agriculture, smart manufacturing under Industry 4.0, tourism, smart city planning, e-commerce, digital infrastructure, inclusive connectivity and digital government. This will greatly assist in achieving our aspirations of digitising the state government.”
Huawei Malaysia CEO Mr Simon Sun says as Sabah pursues its vision of a thriving digital economy, the company stands ready to support it in building a smart, digitally innovative and green Malaysian state. “Together we will cultivate a dynamic local digital talent pool that will contribute to Sabah for generations to come.”
It will also offer consultancy and advisory services to expedite digital transformation and innovation efforts in various sectors including agriculture, smart manufacturing, tourism, e-commerce, and digital government.
