Loke: Public Transport Must Be Led by Professionals, Not Politicians

Transport Minister Anthony Loke emphasized that leadership of public transport agencies should remain in the hands of professionals and experts, not political appointees. Speaking at the Malaysia Madani Intellectual Forum, he said professional leadership ensures better management and transparency, citing Prasarana Malaysia Berhad’s improved performance as an example. The forum, chaired by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, focused on balancing affordability, quality, and sustainability in public transport. Other panellists included Prasarana CEO Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah and UPM Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah.
