Mara to stop sending students to US varsities

Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) has decided to halt sending students to the United States for further studies starting this year due to uncertainties in current U.S. policies, as announced by its chairman, Datuk Dr. Ashraf Wadi Dusuki, in London on June 1, 2025. The batch of students scheduled to study in the U.S. in October will be redirected to top universities in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, or local universities in Malaysia. Counsellors are guiding these students to alternative renowned institutions to ensure they remain motivated. Mara is also evaluating the impact of U.S. policies on its students currently studying there, with a decision to follow once the study is complete.
