Millionaires Flee UK for UAE
Millionaires are increasingly relocating from traditional powerhouses to tax-friendly, stable countries, with the UK set to see the highest millionaire outflow in 2025, according to Henley & Partners. The shift is driven by growing tax burdens, capital market instability, and post-Brexit uncertainty. The firm highlights steep hikes in the UK’s capital gains and inheritance taxes as key triggers for this “Wexit” (wealth exit). China topped the millionaire migration list in 2024 but will be overtaken by the UK in 2025. In contrast, the United Arab Emirates continues to attract high-net-worth individuals, thanks to its political stability, favorable tax policies, strong infrastructure, and strategic location. The global rich are increasingly choosing destinations that offer security, lifestyle, and financial advantages amid economic and political volatility in their home countries.
