Nearly 90% of mobile truck businesses, including food, goods, and services, fail to comply with fire safety standards set by the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), posing risks of fire, explosions, or accidents. Datuk Ab Halim Tuah Rahmat, President of the Public Area and Fair Usage and Road Safety Association Malaysia (Pafur), urged strict actions, including suspension or cancellation of operating licenses for non-compliant trucks, to ensure public safety. He called for coordinated enforcement operations by JBPM, the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), the Road Transport Department (JPJ), and local authorities (PBT).
