IPOH: The Perak Housing and Property Board (LPHP) is strengthening efforts to deliver affordable housing in the state through a strategic collaboration with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).
LPHP chief executive officer Mohamed Akmal Dahalan said the initiative supports the agency’s role as the lead under the Perak Sejahtera 2030 plan, which emphasises Availability, Affordability and Accessibility.
Based on population growth projections and current home ownership rates, Perak will require 57,407 housing units by 2030. Progress will be tracked via the Perak Housing Dashboard, scheduled for launch in September.
Under the memorandum of understanding signed on Jan 23, LPHP and CIDB will cooperate to implement housing projects aligned with the state housing policy. The partnership also standardises designs for low-cost (Perakku 1) and medium-cost (Perakku II) homes through CIDB IBS Sdn Bhd, allowing pre-approved building plans to speed up approvals, reduce costs, and ensure construction quality.
