Royal Ambarrukmo
Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta, a 5-star luxury hotel, has a rich history dating back to the reign of Sultan Hamengku Buwono II in the late 18th century. Originally known as “Jenu,” it transformed over the years into “Kedhaton Ambarrukmo,” serving as a royal residence and later an administrative office.
In the 1960s, with funding from Japan, the hotel was built by the suggestion of President Ir. Soekarno and Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX, featuring Soekarno’s architectural touch. Renovated in 2011, it became Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta, renowned for its Javanese culture.
