Shopee Empowers Women Entrepreneurs in Penang Under Jelajah Komuniti

PENANG, April 16, 2026 – Shopee Malaysia expanded its ‘Wanita Go Digital bersama Shopee’ initiative to Penang under Jelajah Komuniti 2026, reinforcing efforts to support women entrepreneurs through practical, community-based digital training.

Held at Komtar and officiated by Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Lim Hui Ying, the programme highlighted accessible pathways for women to start and grow online businesses as Shopee sellers or affiliates. She underscored how digital adoption enables homemakers, single mothers and small entrepreneurs to generate income from home at lower cost.

Shopee also presented its Anugerah Aspirasi Wanita Shopee, recognising outstanding women entrepreneurs. Recipients included Dashboxx founder Nur Shafiqa Mohtar and Adra Efftissa, both of whom built sustainable businesses through Shopee’s ecosystem.

Participants attended training and panel sessions, gaining insights into livestreaming, content strategies and consistency. In 2026, women sellers generated RM4.3 billion in GMV, highlighting their growing impact in digital commerce.
