KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 — Patients at Hospital Kuala Lumpur’s (HKL) orthopaedic clinic endure waits of up to six hours due to a severe shortage of doctors, the Health Ministry confirmed. Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad said the clinic lost 62 per cent of its doctors through transfers, resignations and postgraduate studies, leaving only five medical officers and seven specialists to handle 300 daily cases. The ministry plans to expand the MySejahtera electronic appointment system, already in use at government clinics, to specialist hospitals to ease congestion and improve efficiency.
