MRCB enters the data centre sector with a RM2.1 billion AI-ready facility in Bukit Jalil, creating recurring income opportunities while strengthening its long-term infrastructure growth strategy.
MRCB Advances Digital Infrastructure
Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) is taking a significant step into the digital infrastructure sector through the development of an AI-ready data centre facility in Bukit Jalil. The project, with an estimated gross development cost of RM2.1 billion, will be developed in collaboration with Perintis Akal Sdn Bhd (PASB), a wholly owned subsidiary of PEMANDU Partners International.
The proposed facility will be built on a 37,320-square-metre leasehold site owned by MRCB’s subsidiary, Bukit Jalil Sentral Property Sdn Bhd. Under the arrangement, MRCB will act as the asset owner and master developer, while PASB will serve as the long-term tenant and operator through a proposed 10-year lease agreement.
Designed to support artificial intelligence and high-performance computing workloads, the facility is expected to provide approximately 500,000 square feet of gross floor area and 65MW of IT load capacity. The long-term lease structure is expected to generate recurring income while unlocking value from MRCB’s existing land assets.
Beyond digital infrastructure, MRCB continues to pursue opportunities in transportation, water, flood mitigation, renewable energy and industrial infrastructure projects. With a strong order book and active tender pipeline, the company remains well positioned to support future earnings growth and expand its infrastructure portfolio.
