Selangor Posts Record RM432.1 Billion GDP in 2024, Leads National Growth

Selangor achieved a record-high GDP of RM432.1 billion in 2024, up from RM406.1 billion in 2023, solidifying its status as Malaysia’s economic powerhouse. The state accounted for 26.2% of the national GDP, with strong growth in services (61.1% of GDP) and manufacturing (29.1%). Its 6.3% GDP growth rate surpassed the national average of 5.1%.

Chief Minister Amirudin Shari credited this to collective efforts, saying:

“Our continued progress is a reflection of the collective commitment and hard work of all stakeholders… Together, we have built a thriving ecosystem that not only attracts investment, but also creates quality jobs and uplifts communities.”
