Kelantan Police: State a Key Transit Point for Drugs from Thailand
Kelantan police revealed that the state serves as a major transit point for drugs such as syabu, cannabis, and heroin smuggled from Thailand. State police chief Mohd Yusoff Mamat said these drugs are often sent to the west coast, while “pil kuda” remains the most popular drug among local addicts due to its low price, quick high, and easy availability. Speaking at the Kelantan police headquarters, he noted the state’s proximity to Thailand, separated only by Sungai Golok, facilitates drug entry. Police continue working closely with Thai enforcement agencies to share intelligence and tighten border security to curb smuggling.
