Air Travel Chaos Hit Middle East Airlines Amid Conflict

Major Middle Eastern carriers face cancellations and limited schedules as regional conflict forces closures of airports and airspace restrictions.

Air travel across the Middle East continues to face significant disruption as conflict in the region forces closures of airports and airspace. Emirates has begun gradually resuming flights after a drone-related fire near its hub caused temporary suspension. Etihad Airways is operating a reduced schedule from Abu Dhabi, while Oman Air has cancelled flights to destinations including Dubai, Doha, and Bahrain until March 31.

Qatar Airways announced that flights remain suspended due to airspace closures, though limited services will resume between March 18 and March 28. Turkish Airlines has cancelled flights across several Middle Eastern destinations, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Qatar, and the UAE. Meanwhile, international carriers such as Air Canada, Delta, and Wizz Air have suspended flights to Tel Aviv until later in March. Travelers are advised to check directly with airlines for updates on cancellations or amended schedules.
