Proton Posts 3.3% Sales Growth in 2025, Exports Hit 13-Year High

SUBANG JAYA: Proton ended 2025 with 157,976 vehicles sold, marking 3.3% growth over 2024 and an estimated 19.4% market share amid a 0.2% Total Industry Volume contraction to 814,949 units.

December sales reached 14,655 units. Key models drove performance: Saga hit 74,013 units (highest since 2011), X50 remained No. 1 B-segment SUV with 28,057 units (18.6% growth), and X70 surpassed 112,386 cumulative sales.

S70 led C-sedan under RM100k for 15 months, X90 topped D-segment SUVs, and e.MAS 7 became Malaysia’s best-selling EV.

Exports soared 26% to 6,000 units—a 13-year high—expanding Proton’s international presence. The Geely partnership and strategic initiatives bolstered the national carmaker’s dominance across segments. (148 words)
