Sabah Attracts RM7.54 Billion in Manufacturing Investments in 2025
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah has secured RM7.54 billion in manufacturing sector investments as of the third quarter of 2025, placing the state sixth highest among Malaysia’s states, announced Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Ewon Benedick.
Speaking during the debate on the Sabah Supply Bill 2026 at the State Legislative Assembly, Ewon, who is also Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Transport, emphasised the ministry’s commitment to attracting high-impact investments to position Sabah as a premier investment destination.
He highlighted that industrial development drives economic growth, boosts competitiveness, creates jobs, and improves public well-being.
The 2026 state budget allocates RM105.67 million for supply expenditure and RM88.36 million for development, including RM43.53 million for infrastructure at key industrial parks like KKIP, POIC Lahad Datu, and SOGIP.
Additional allocations support entrepreneurship programmes (RM5 million), railway services (RM18.19 million), and port infrastructure (RM4.75 million).
